Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Employing over 9,500 workers on a site measuring 1,269 acres, the Ford Kansas City Assembly plant is one of the largest employers in the metropolitan Kansas City area. Keeping those employees safe and comfortable in more regulated temperatures inside the plant, especially during the hot summer months, was the impetus behind the air-tempering project at the Claycomo plant.

Teaming with our manufacturer partners Solution Air, Greenheck and Capital Coil and mechanical contractor P1 Construction, Jorban-Riscoe provided chilled water plenums, new supply fans with VFD, chilled water coils, and service vestibules for several existing heating-only air handling units. Much of the equipment was included in 27 helicopter picks in one day during the plant’s holiday shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s Day of 2023-2024 which required extensive coordination efforts between the project team.
